Anna L. Altshuler, MD, MPH, is an obstetrician/gynecologist at Sutter’s California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC).
With clinical expertise and research interests in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Altshuler works to improve access to medical care in under-resourced and underserved populations. She studies abortion care and works to integrate abortion services and improved access to other reproductive and sexual health services into general obstetrics and gynecology.
Dr. Altshuler’s research focuses on normalizing and integrating abortion and family planning into primary care services. She has conducted quantitative and qualitative research, and systematic reviews. She has served as the primary investigator in three original research studies and has published findings in peer reviewed journals.
Currently Dr. Altshuler helps lead a multisite, randomized controlled trial studying pregnant women’s decision-making regarding mode of neonatal delivery. Dr. Altshuler received an MD from the University of California, Irvine. She completed residency training in obstetrics/gynecology at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA and a fellowship in family planning at Stanford University School of Medicine in Stanford, CA.
