Research and Accreditation
Sutter Cancer Centers are proud to be at the forefront of cancer care and research. The Blood and Marrow Transplant Program at Sutter Medical Center and Sutter Cancer Center in Sacramento recently joined a select group of transplant programs nationwide officially recognized for overall excellence from the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy.
Sutter Cancer Center locations in Auburn, Modesto, Roseville, Sacramento and Vallejo have earned accreditation by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Commission on Cancer.
Accreditation signifies these locations meet the commission’s stringent guidelines and reporting standards and have met the criteria to be named as a “Comprehensive Cancer Center.”
According to ACS criteria, an accredited cancer program strives to offer people with cancer:

- A multidisciplinary, team approach
- Information and education
- Patient-centered services
- Options for genetic assessment and counseling, and palliative care services
- Care monitoring and quality improvement
- Treatment planning based on evidence-based national treatment guidelines
