Throat, voice and swallowing problems can be caused by:
- Acute tonsil infection.
- Chronic throat clearing due to postnasal drip or acid reflux.
- Vocal cord weakness or lesions.
- Laryngitis.
- Weakness following a stroke or other neurologic problem.
- Narrowing of the upper esophagus.
