Gentle yoga, an ongoing class, caters to women who are new to yoga and coping with chronic health issues or seeking a gentle practice to support the healing process. This compassionately led class can improve your ability to cope and your sense of well-being. Each sequence includes the basic principles of movement, alignment and breathing awareness. Poses are done seated, standing and on the floor, often with props. You must be able to get up and down from the floor without help.
Yoga and mindfulness can help you learn to strengthen and relax your pelvic floor, which can improve gynecological health and incontinence management. This series incorporates yoga positions that focus on the muscles that span the opening at the bottom of the pelvis. Poses are done seated, standing and on the floor, often with props. You must be able to get up and down from the floor unassisted.
This class is for women living with any form of arthritis, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia and other chronic illnesses who want a low-impact program to cope with chronic pain, soreness or stiffness in muscles and joints. It is designed for people of all ages and levels of mobility and fitness. You can do movements while seated or standing. Classes incorporate range of motion exercises, gentle yoga poses and education on how to improve joint and bone health.
