Severe burns from fire, chemicals, electricity or heat can leave you with deep
and painful scars. While surgery and therapeutic procedures can’t remove burn
scars entirely, plastic surgeons in the Sutter Health network can reduce the
physical appearance of scars.
We offer a wide variety of scar reduction
procedures, including scar
revision surgery, dermabrasion, skin
grafts, and skin
flaps. For scars that cause restricted movement of your muscles, joints and tendons,
scar release surgery is available. Depending on the location of your constraining
scar, skin grafts, scar revision surgery and skin flaps might be used to replace the
scar tissue removed during the release procedure.
Highly trained plastic
surgeons in the Sutter Health network are certified by the American Society of Plastic
Surgeons, and many are members of the California Society of Plastic Surgeons.
