Philosophy of Care
I strive to provide high quality, experienced, and compassionate care in the field
of pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus.
I thoroughly enjoy my pediatric
patients and their families. I know parents are especially concerned to give their
children a great start for a life of healthy vision, well aligned eye movements and
excellent depth perception. I am highly experienced in all aspects of pediatric ophthalmology,
especially amblyopia and strabismus treatment, including surgery.
My adult
strabismus patients often have a history of double vision, eye strain, head positions
with neck problems, headaches, and difficulty maintaining focus and attention at work
or at home. Some patients experience awkward social interactions when family, colleagues,
or other people are not sure if the patients is looking at or talking to them. Many
of these patients need strabismus surgery but thought only children could benefit
from surgery -- a common myth. I find it extremely rewarding to help my adult patients
with their strabismus, double vision, and other vision problems, and have decades
of experience with adult strabismus surgery.
