Plastic surgery is unique in medicine in its singular focus on improving quality of life, not just treating disease. This is true in all aspects of the specialty, from finger and limb reattachment to thigh lifts; from repair of facial fractures and lacerations to facelifts; and from breast cancer reconstruction to cosmetic breast augmentation. As a plastic surgeon, my goal for all my patients is to enrich their lives in some way, by improving form or function. PAMF is an ideal place for a plastic surgeon to thrive because we are given a chance to truly focus on the patient, to understand each patient's desires, and to help our patients in the most direct way possible.
