Dr. Kowaleski - often known by patients as “Dr. Steve”- believes that the Voltaire quote, “The art of medicine consists in amusing the patient while nature cures the disease” helps to describe the practice of pediatric medicine. However, while he does like to try and amuse patients (parents too), Dr. Kowaleski knows that his role is to help nature along to cure, and perhaps more importantly, prevent disease.

When diagnosing and treating illnesses, Dr. Kowaleski keeps the whole picture in mind. He knows that educating and communicating with parents about their child’s growth and development, nutrition, and behavior patterns is the best way to keep kids healthy and families happy. He, likewise, pays great attention to the input of parents and patients because he knows that patient health and wellness requires a collaborative effort.
