Vera I. Prisacari, M.D.

I was born in Moldova and immigrated to the US with my family when I was 10 years old.  I graduated from public schools and Iowa State University. After graduation, I attended medical school and completed my medical training in Missouri, where I met my husband. We decided to move to California to be closer to his family and further away from cold winters. I liked the welcoming community of Modesto and the near-constant sunshine. 

Mental health is health. I encourage all patients to be active participants in their care through shared-decision making. My appointments are structured to include assessment questions, discussing possible diagnoses, and education about treatment options, including both medications and therapy. I follow evidence-based practice guidelines, including using extreme caution when prescribing controlled substances. I screen everyone for signs of medication misuse and substance abuse in order to provide safe and effective medical care. I respect your right to privacy and confidentiality and I welcome anyone you choose to include during our appointments. To uphold a safe and healing environment for all patients and staff, our clinic will not allow any aggression, including hateful or abusive language, threats of harm, or physical violence.
