Community Health Needs Assessment

At Sutter, we work tirelessly to improve the health of the communities we serve through our community benefit activities and programs. These efforts are based on needs identified through a community health needs assessment, conducted once every three years, in collaboration with other healthcare providers, public health departments and a variety of community organizations.

Community Health Needs Assessments

In 2025, Sutter Health conducted community health needs assessments (CHNA) to identify the significant health needs in the communities we serve.

Implementation Strategies

The CHNAs were used to develop Sutter's 2025-2027 implementation strategies, plans that demonstrate how our hospitals will work to address the significant health needs in our communities.

Community Benefit Plans

The CHNAs and implementation strategies were used to develop the 2022-2024 community benefit plans. The plans are submitted to the Department of Health Care Access and Information (formerly OSHPD) and report on annual community benefit activities including program impact and community benefit financials.

Soliciting for Public Comments

Your opinion matters to us. As your not-for-profit healthcare partner, Sutter Health is seeking public comments to help inform the development of our 2028 Community Health Needs Assessment. Share your thoughts by reviewing our current CHNA and corresponding implementation strategy. Please submit your comments on either document by March 1, 2026, to SHCB@sutterhealth.org. All comments received will be considered as part of the community input component in the development of the Sutter Health 2028 Community Health Needs Assessment.
