Bariatric Surgery Outcomes at PAMF

Post Bariatric Surgery Palo Alto Medical Foundation’s experienced surgeons, combined, have performed more than 2,400 safe and effective bariatric surgeries since 2008  in the past five years, with proven results. On average, our patients lost 26 percent of their weight one year after surgery.

Our surgical weight loss experts have compiled the following information and statistics for patients who are considering bariatric surgery. The data shows the weight loss results of patients who underwent three different types of surgery at PAMF. We also tracked how our patients’ weight loss positively affected their blood pressure, cholesterol levels and blood sugar.

Weight Loss

The following chart depicts the percentage of excess body weight our patients lost in the year following their bariatric surgery procedures. Results are further broken down by surgery type and gender.
