New Weigh of Life is a one-year prevention program for overweight people who are at risk for diabetes or who have been diagnosed with diabetes, pre-diabetes or insulin resistance.
Our program was adapted by the University of Pittsburg from a National Institutes of Health program that has helped people reduce their risk of type 2 diabetes by 58 percent and up to 71 percent for people over age 60.
In New Weigh of Life, you learn behavior and lifestyle changes to help you lower your diabetes risk, improve your health and achieve lasting weight loss. You participate in 16 core sessions over four months, followed by six monthly post-core sessions.
This successful program is accredited by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to help people reduce their diabetes risk. It has also helped people shed unwanted pounds.
