You can see a provider’s availability listed in their profile. If they’re available, their profile will say “accepting new patients.” You can also filter your search to only show providers who are accepting new patients. Please note, physicians that work in an environment that doesn’t accept appointments, such as the ER, will not show this information. 

Providers who are part of Sutter-affiliated medical groups include a list of accepted health plans in their profiles. For other physicians in the directory, you’ll need to contact the doctor’s office or your health plan to confirm your coverage. This information can change rapidly, so it’s always a good idea to confirm whether your health plan — including the plan name and type — is currently accepted.

You can use the phone number listed in the provider’s profile to schedule an appointment. For many providers, you can also book an appointment online. New patients can select an available time slot included in the provider’s profile. Current patients can schedule a visit through My Health Online. You will likely be contacted by the physician’s office before your appointment to confirm details of your visit and your health plan coverage.

You can filter your provider search by what languages the provider speaks. Each physician profile includes what languages they speak and their proficiency, such as basic, conversational or fluent.
