Sutter Health CPMC Clinical Pastoral Education Staff
At Sutter Health CPMC, our spiritual care team is a compassionate and diverse group that includes our department manager, staff chaplains, per diem chaplains, an ACPE-certified educator, chaplain students, a Healing Harpist and Healing Harp students.
Together, we’re dedicated to providing person-centered spiritual care — meeting people where they are, with empathy and understanding. Each of us brings our own unique faith, culture and life experience to our work, helping us offer meaningful support to patients, families and staff. We’re also deeply committed to mentoring and training future spiritual caregivers, especially during times of profound challenges and uncertainty.
Sutter empowers our team to create hands-on learning experiences tailored to each student’s strengths and goals. We encourage creativity, initiative and growth as students learn what it means to walk alongside others in their times of need. Every student is thoughtfully matched with a trained clinical preceptor who helps them navigate our interdisciplinary care environment, with a focus on cultural sensitivity, equity and deep respect for each person’s story.
Graduates of our Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program leave with a strong foundation for careers in chaplaincy, caregiving, congregational leadership and community support. Many are well-prepared to pursue board certification in spiritual care by the time they complete their training.
