The Antiracism Working Group is an initiative established at Sutter East Bay Medical Group to address systemic racism in our institutions and create a more just and equitable environment for our patients and our colleagues. One of the goals of the working group is to support students who are underrepresented in medicine to facilitate careers in the health sciences and increase the diversity of our clinician workforce.
Established by the Sutter East Bay Medical Group in 2020, the Sutter Scholarship for Success supports the continuing education of underprivileged or minority college students. Sponsored by the Sutter Health Philanthropy Grants and Disbursement Program, the goal of this scholarship is to help prepare underrepresented students to become compassionate, responsible leaders in the field of healthcare. Scholarships are awarded annually and vary based on need and competitive review.
We will reward five $2,000 scholarships to college students in Alameda and Contra Costa counties who are planning a career as a physician (MD or DO) or advanced practice clinician (PA or NP).
The scholarship will be disbursed directly to the students to be used in their greatest area of need.
